Height Difference

There is a height (thickness) difference between the VC4 and VC5. The difference is 3mm (approx 1/8"). The face plug is a convenient whay of over coming this difference.
The alternetive is to place the fixed VC4 on a 3mm piece of MDF or similar

VC4 and VC5 in combination

 

Using a VC4 in a fixed position and a VC5 as a movable second is another strategy worth considering.

The VC4 has a lower air consumption and would work well at the point of origin (X=0, Y=0, Z=0) The vacuum port would be placed adjacent to this point.
Note the Face plugs have been stacked two up on the VC4. This matches the height of the VC5. Refer to the "Height Difference" column to the left.
